BLITZART Huracane 38″ Electric Skateboard Review

It is never too late to start learning something new, so if you want to learn how to ride a longboard then nothing should stop you. However, learning how to keep your balance while kicking off the ground can be tricky, which is why you should first try riding the BLITZART Huracane 38″ Electric Skateboard Electronic Longboard.

Features and Specifications

Motor and batteries

Blitzart is one of the top electric skateboard makers in the world, and the BLITZART Huracane is no exception. Although it is just powered by a single motor, like the Evolve Skateboards – Bamboo ONE Electric Longboard Skateboard, it has more than enough power to propel the board and its rider up to 17 miles an hour.

The Huracane uses a single 350-watt brushless, in-hub motor mounted in the rear left wheel. The great thing about in-hub motors is that when the batteries run out, you can still use the board like normal, meaning you can kick off without any problem. This is something that you cannot do with a belt-driven motor.

The board comes with a 36V, 4Ah Li-ion battery pack, which is replaceable, that can power the Huracane to a distance between 6 and 8 miles on a single full charge. Speaking of charging, the Huracane’s battery pack can be fully charged in just two and a half hours.

The single motor is also capable of regenerative braking. This means that whenever you put on the brakes, the motors actually charge the battery pack by a bit, thus improving your battery mileage. You can actually push the maximum range by quite a bit when you ride non-aggressively and use the regenerative braking feature efficiently.

Deck and wheels

The Huracane’s deck is made of 7 layers of Canadian maple sandwiched in between two layers of bamboo (like the Evolve Skateboards – Bamboo GTX Series Electric Skateboard), giving the board plenty of flexibility that makes carving the streets much better. However, the multiple layers of material also means that the board is strong and can withstand quite a lot of punishment from the road; even if you run over a pothole, you can be sure that the Huracane will come out of it in one piece.

The wheels are 90mm in diameter and made of durable, yet forgiving polyurethane. You can also customize the board you buy by changing the colors of the wheels. There are several bright colors to choose from aside from the basic black. Even the wheels with motors come in different colors too.

The trucks are 9-inches wide, making the board very stable even when riding at max speed. The trucks are made of aluminum, so they really do not add much in terms of weight.

The Good

The Blitzart store has everything that you need

Unlike other electric skateboard brands, Blitzart’s website has an extensive store section where you can find all of the spare parts that you will ever need or want. You can buy replacement wheels, grip tape, motors, replacement batteries, and more. You can actually build your own electric board from all the parts that you can purchase at the website.

Great battery life

Because the Huracane is a single-motor electric board, it has quite a long battery life, especially if you do not ride it too aggressively and if you take advantage of the regenerative braking system; 6 miles per full charge actually is doable. You can even replace the battery pack that came with it with an extended battery pack.

When there are so many benefits that you can get just from owning the Blitzart Huracane, the real mystery here is why you are still not one of the proud owners if this exquisite electric longboard, go get one now!

The Bad

The board wobbles when you gun it

Because the Huracane is a single-motor electric longboard, when you gun the throttle from a standing start the board will wobble a bit because only one side is powered. This is a problem that the Maxfind MAX C Electric Skateboard also has. However, the wobble is not that strong and it will correct itself.

The warranty is a bit too short

Blitzart only provides 3-month warranties on their products, which means if any part of the board gives up on you 91 days after purchase then you have to purchase replacement parts out of your own pocket.

Who is this for?

Since the Blitzart Huracane only has 350 watts of power, it is the ideal board for beginners at longboarding. Although the board will wobble a bit during an abrupt takeoff, it is still easy to control and keep balanced on. Add to that the affordable price, it is no wonder that this is one of the most popular electronic longboard models to date.

Although there are some people claiming that the components of the Blitzart Huracane are not as tough as they would have wanted them to be, it is still a pretty solid board. Even if the board only has a total of 350 watts of power, if you do not have any experience riding a powered longboard, 350 watts is plenty of power already.

The Huracane is not the perfect electric longboard, but then again, it does get close, so you really should consider getting one for yourself.
